About Us

Hello!

Thank you for visiting our blog and for following our adventures as Peace Corps Volunteers stationed in Perú, 2019-2021. We are the first same-sex couple to serve in the country, and we’re excited to be an example of the diversity that the United States can bring to the communities that we serve. We’re both serving as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) volunteers, which means we’ll be working alongside the local water committees of rural communities, local municipal leadership, as well as other similar counterparts to improve the management and infrastructure of these under-developed communities. Oh, and we’re also both vegan! We’ve both been vegan for almost two and a half years now, and we are looking forward to continuing our lifestyles in Perú, coming up with innovative ways to both integrate into the culture as well as educate others on our vegan lifestyles.

Andrew is a graduate from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania (about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia). He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2016, and his Master’s degree in Sustainable Engineering with a focus on International Development in 2018.

Bryan is also a graduate from Villanova, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on Water Resources Engineering) in 2018 along with a minor in Irish Studies. Before coming to serve in Perú, he finished his first year of graduate school, also in Sustainable Engineering with a focus in International Development. Upon his return from the Peace Corps, he will finish his last year of graduate studies to receive his Master’s degree.

We have both traveled to more than 30 countries and have lived in a number of them working on international development projects (which include WASH, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education, as well as English education). We look forward to using our experiences and knowledge to positively effect change in the communities we work in. Thank you for joining us on our vegan Peace Corps journey!

Hasta pronto,

Andrew y Bryan 🙂
